Global Missions

Christ The Redeemer is committed to global missions. Here are a few of the ministries with whom we participate.

Cristo Mi Redentor Church – Guatemala

Compassion International – Rwanda
We are committed to be the people of Rwanda through our partnership with Compassion International. Compassion works with churches in Rwanda and around the world to establish ‘Projects’ that support children and their families within local communities. Individuals and families in the West can sponsor a child and help transform an entire community through a local church. Mbyo is privileged to be a ‘Compassion Project’ in Rwanda. We encourage our members to sponsor one or more children in Rwanda through Compassion, knowing that each sponsorship makes a kingdom-difference in a local community through a local church.

Every year we host a Compassion Sunday where we celebrate our connection with this special organization and seek to deepen our relationship through the encouragement of more sponsorships of children in Rwanda.  We have found that this personal connection reinforces each and every other aspect of our relationship with this remarkable country and church.

Compassion Sunday is an annual event for churches across the U.S. It’s an opportunity for members of our church family to personally sponsor children who live in extreme poverty, and help them find new life in Jesus. More than 2,000 churches will be participating this year, and we anticipate that 15,000 children will be sponsored as a result. Learn more!

Rwandan Coffee Ministry
That delicious aroma that greets you on Sunday mornings is Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee perking! We use LOTH coffee exclusively at CTR because we wish to support the reconciliation and redemption efforts in genocide-ravaged Rwanda. The Land of a Thousand Hills motto, Drink Coffee. Do Good, only begins to tell the story of what started when Rev. Jonathan Golden of St. Peter’s Place, Roswell, Georgia, learned from Bishop John Rucyahana of Ruhengheri, Rwanda, about how earning a living wage and having micro-finance loans available could help heal the wounds of the Rwandan people.

So enjoy a great cup of coffee on Sunday morning, buy Rwandan coffee at the church or through Land of a Thousand Hills to enjoy at home, give Rwandan coffee as a gift, take some to work and share it there – do whatever you can to support this great ministry. Visit Land of a Thousands Hills to learn more about what LOTH is doing and know that you have “bean” part of it!
