Week of October 23

Dear Friends,
Here are some things going on this week at Christ the Redeemer:
We are still doing sign-ups to take meals to the Richters.  Linda is home now, resting and comfortable, but she still has several months of recovery ahead of her.  Please keep her and Bill in your prayers.  Please go to the Take Them a Meal link below to sign up.

Some other happenings here at CtR:
Due to changes in the lives of those faithfully serving on the Altar Team, there is a critical need for more of the CtR family to serve in this quiet, essential ministry.  Please see Anne Reed Harper (or call her at 757-289-5181) if you are willing to serve.

Week of October 9

Dear Friends,
Here are some important things going on this week at Christ the Redeemer:
Bishop Steve and Sally Breedlove’s Visit:
We welcome our bishop and his wife to our community this weekend. Bishop Steve will be leading our Leadership Council in some strategic planning on Saturday morning, meeting with our baptismal and conformational candidates later on Saturday afternoon, and preaching, celebrating and confirming for us on Sunday morning.  It promises to be a fruitful and glorious weekend.
We are asking folks to bring something to share (Pot Luck ‘Finger Food’) for our reception following the service, both to welcome the Breedloves and to celebrate with our baptismal candidates, confirmands and their families.
Plan now to share in the celebration, and invite a friend to join you.
Some pastoral news:
Clark Garvin’s mother is not doing well and will be going into Hospice this weekend.  We ask that you please keep Clark, his mother, and their family in your prayers during this time.  We also ask you to pray for safe travel for Clark as he heads to Texas to be with her.
