Thank you for your prayer, donations, and service given toward The Basics and Alpha classes over the past two months! The Basics five-week program unfortunately ended this past Tuesday, however, there was such a positive response from participants that we hope to have a second round in September. To read more about how this pilot program went, click here.
Please continue praying for the Alpha classes. There have been several individuals considering the claims of Christ through these sessions. Pray that the word of God is being planted in good soil, and that it will bear fruit in the hearts of those attending! They are meeting every Thursday evening, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the home of Dn. David until June 15th.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, and hope to see you on Sunday!

Here’s what’s happening at Christ the Redeemer this coming weekend, and over the next two months:
Even if you missed Discipleship Hour last week, it’s not too late to jump in on one of the three wonderful classes that are being offered! In fact, this will be the FIRST meeting for Joshua’s class on “Personality and Service: Finding Your Place in Ministry” – you don’t want to miss it!
As a reminder, here are the Adult tracks being offered:
“Personality and Service: Finding Your Place in Ministry”, led by Joshua Matlack. This course will examine various personality and individual features which can be clues to finding God’s calling for you at Christ the Redeemer. It will also explore how personality, environmental factors, and gifting can help inform how and where you would both thrive the most and help others to live into their own callings. Note: This course is designed to be practical and personal. While we will be guided by Scripture, it is not a Bible course; attenders should be prepared to engage personally with the material.
“Growing Compassionate Kids”, led by Casey Reed and Temple Richardson. If you are a parent or caregiver, and have already attended Joshua’s class (mentioned above), this class is for you! The book Growing Compassionate Kids by Jan Johnson is used as a guide throughout the class.
“Study of Philippians”, led by Father Brian Campbell. This class is for anyone who has already attended Joshua’s class. It does not require consistent attendance so drop in anytime!
The Youth track for Discipleship Hour is focusing on the Catechism as preparation for Confirmation (which will take place either in June or in November this year). It’s not too late to join!
The Children’s Ministry will continue discovering God through the Jesus Storybook Bible.
Should you need to step out of the service with your children, the Fellowship Hall is available for you to continue to listen to the worship service. The service is piped into the Hall in hopes that this will be helpful for parents and grandparents.
THANK YOU to all of you who have been supporting these programs through your prayers, donations, and time. Both Alpha and The Basics are up and running, and off to a great start thanks to you! Please stay tuned for more specific updates, but in the meantime we would appreciate prayer for the following:
Please continue to invite people to Alpha, and any parents and caregivers you know to The Basics!
Don’t forget that the Youth Cookout is this Sunday! All youth in 6th-12th grade, and their family and friends, are invited to come hang out on Sunday, May 5th, 4:00pm – 7:30pm. There will be lawn games, grilling out, and a fire pit with s’mores as we celebrate our graduates! Please RSVP through the Evite, and bring a side to share (meat and s’mores will be provided).
CtR’s Annual Talent Show is coming up on Saturday, June 8 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm! Save the date for this fun, inter-generational event which reminds us of all the gifts that God has given us! 🙂 There will be a covered dish dinner, as well as a ministry fair. More details to come.
May God bless and keep you always!
