New Discipleship Hour Classes!
The 12-week”Introduction to the Catechism” class will continue, however, this is the last Sunday for the two 6-week classes: “Growing Compassionate Kids” and “Study of the Book of James.” Two new 6-week classes will begin on October 20th to replace those that are ending this Sunday:
Track 2. Stewardship – Led by Sarah Beers, Dan and Ray Inman, and Emelie Thomas. This class will broadly discuss stewardship as a way of life, and not simply financial stewardship. Stewardship means that we, as followers of Christ, should have a posture toward living in a generous way. The book Giving Up by Canon David Roseberry will be used as a guide so it would be helpful (but not required) to have a copy of the book. Click here to purchase on Amazon.
Track 3. Daily Office Space – Led by Brad Embry and Bruce Harper. This will be a conversation based on the Daily Office from the previous week, decorated with flair about application, culture, and life in general.
If you are interested in attending one of these classes (and are not already in the Catechism class), there will be a sign-up sheet located on the whiteboard in the Fellowship Hall, or you can email Sydney at ctrsec@gmail.com to sign up. Thank you!
Wanting to be Baptized or Confirmed?
On Sunday, November 3rd, Bishop Steve Breedlove will be joining us for worship, and we have the privilege of celebrating Baptisms and Confirmations while he is here! If you and/or your child are wanting to be baptized, or are interested in being confirmed and have prepared yourself to be so, please contact Fr. Brian at revbriancampbell@gmail.com by this Sunday so there is enough time to plan and prepare for the service coming up in a few weeks.
Church Directory Photos
All those who signed up to take pictures this Sunday for our new Church Directory, please come to the photo room (across from the office space) as soon as the worship service is over! The Communications Committee wants to honor your time and get everyone in and out quickly so you can enjoy coffee hour. 🙂 There are still empty slots for the two remaining Sundays in October as well as Saturday, October 19th. If you would like to sign up for one of these slots, please do so on Sunday morning via the sign-up sheet outside of the photo room, or contact Sydney at ctrsec@gmail.com.
Operation Christmas Child
The Children and Family Ministry is participating in Operation Christmas Child as their Christmas project this year. There is a table in the Fellowship Hall containing brochures with more information, and boxes for you to take home and fill together with your family! The boxes, along with $9 for shipping, will need to be returned by November 17th. You can give the $9 online or make your check payable to Samaratan’s Purse with a note in memo line: “for Operation Christmas Child” (the brochures located in the Fellowship Hall also have this information listed). We will not be filling the boxes at the church. This is different than how we have done it in the past, so if you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Brown at brownie7506@yahoo.com .
Amendment to CtR Bylaws
Christ the Redeemer’s Bylaws were recently amended to reflect our current affiliation with the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), and replace our previous affiliation with PEARUSA. You can find the amended Bylaws here, and they will also be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway next to the Children’s Check-in table. The congregation will need to vote on the amendment at our next Congregational Meeting in December.
“Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
