Women’s Ministry

Whether you are a ‘Mary’ or a ‘Martha’, young or more mature, married or on your own, new to the faith or wise beyond your years, a community of women is ready to welcome you, nurture you, disciple you, and support you in your life’s journey.

During the school year we have two groups meeting regularly:  one in the evening (Wednesdays) and one in the morning (Thursdays).  Both groups have enjoyed the teachings and studies of Beth Moore, Tim Keller, Sally Breedlove and Kelly Minter just to name a few.  Some of our women participate in a monthly Book Club, and we also gather throughout the year to celebrate births, engagements, marriages and all other great transitional moments in life.

Our annual retreat this year will be February 2-4, 2017 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. This retreat enables us get away from the frantic pace of daily life to refresh ourselves with each other’s fellowship as well as more intentional fellowship with the Lord.  Brochures with more information and a registration form are available on the table outside the sanctuary, but for more information email  info@christtheredeemer.org.

For more information on Women’s Ministry, please speak to Janis Campbell or Temple Richardson or e-mail info@christtheredeemer.org. Also check the CTR calendar for dates.

Women’s Bible Studies for Fall, 2017:  Calling all Women!

The Wednesday night group will be studying “Liturgy of the Ordinary” by Tish Harrison Warren, starting Nov. 8th at 7 p.m. at the home of Temple Richardson, 1510 South Eleanor Ct. Norfolk.  Call 489-7805 or email trichardson@cox.net for information. Books are available online or in Kindle format. All are welcome; no prior Bible knowledge is necessary…we learn as we go! We would love to have some new and old friends join our group.

The Thursday morning group meets at 9:15 a.m. in Christ the Redeemer’s Fellowship Hall.  This Fall we will be reading and discussing Joanna Weaver’s “Lazarus Awakening”.   http:// lazarusawakening.com/book/

Joanna is the author of “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World” and “Having a Mary Spirit”, both of which we’ve read in the past.  This will be a great study for all of us, but particularly if you are feeling STUCK and need to shed some grave-clothes and start living again.  For more information, please email Janis Campbell at janiscampbell58@gmail.com. Childcare is available for this study.

We have offered childcare in the past and are glad to do so again if anyone needs it.
