Week of Sunday, November 25, 2018

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

As we begin our journey to Christmas, here are a few things to make note of:

First:

There will be NO Discipleship classes this Sunday, November 25th.

Second:

Advent begins next Sunday, December 2, 2018. Our Advent preparations begin Saturday, December 1st at 5:30 p.m. and continue each Saturday in December. December 1st, after a covered dish meal we will make Advent materials to take home. We will begin each subsequent Saturday at 5:30 p.m. with Evening Prayer and share an optional covered dish meal. See the CtR Website under “Come,” then “Service Times” for more information.

Third:

During each Sunday in Advent, the Lighting of the Advent Wreath will take place promptly at 10:15 a.m. The doors to the Sanctuary will be closed prior to the start of the service and, for the sake of the liturgy, late-comers must wait to enter until the completion of the wreath lighting, so please plan to arrive accordingly.

Other events during Advent:

Our Annual General Meeting will be held Sunday, December 9th immediately after worship. We will share a covered dish meal, celebrate and give thanks for 2018 at CtR and plan/pray for 2019. All are encouraged to attend.

CtR has the honor of hosting the monthly prayer gathering for international students this coming Saturday, December 1st from 8:30-10am. See Sunday’s bulletin or contact David Watts for more details.

The Women of CtR are invited to a CtR Women’s Christmas Party, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Flyers with more details are posted throughout the building. See the Website under “Ministries” and “Women’s Ministry” for details.

“The Longest Night”, a service for those who struggle during the Christmas season, will be held Friday, December 21st at 7:00 p.m. See the purple half sheet insert in Sunday’s bulletin for further details

David Watts is planning an exciting inaugural youth ministry event, so keep an eye out for details in the coming days…

Look forward to worshiping with you
