Sunday is a special day for Christ the Redeemer! Not only do we gather to celebrate the Resurrection (as we do every Sunday, and especially during the Season of Easter), but we also gather to celebrate God’s call to participate in his resurrection-life, his ‘mission’ to re-new all things.
During our worship on Sunday, we will raise up and give thanks for our connection with Compassion Ministries–and especially our personal connections with nearly 45 children (and their families, churches, and communities) in Rwanda. We will hear a testimony from a sponsor, hear a word (via ‘video’) from Compassion itself, and consider God’s call to us personally about our own participation in this life-giving ministry.
Then, following the service, we will gather for lunch in the Fellowship Hall and receive an update on our Sister-to-Sister relationship with Mbyo parish in the Diocese of Kigali, Rwanda. Additionally, we will also hear about our diocese’s involvement with “Walk With Rwanda” project.
These are the major ways God has given to us to be involved in his Kingdom work globally. Be sure to stay for the lunch, and be open to the promptings of the Spirit concerning your own involvement in the mission.
