November 13 of Week 32 in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

Here are some of the things you need to be aware of this week:

PEARUSA Mission Fund Offering: Every year PEARUSA (the Missionary Jurisdiction of the Anglican Church of Rwanda in the USA – our parent organization) asks all of its churches to take a one-time offering to support our efforts to extend church planting initiatives beyond the scope of our existing networks. This Sunday we will all have the chance to give to this effort for 2015. We will supply envelopes in the bulletin this week for this offering. Please prayerfully consider your response to this request and come joyfully this Sunday to fulfill it.

Annual General Meeting has been set for Sunday December 7 after worship. We will begin with a Pot Luck Lunch and then celebrate what God did through us and for us in 2014 and consider what God is asking of us in 2015. All are welcome and encouraged to come.

Nomination Process for Leadership Council. We have a six-member Leadership Council at CtR. Every year two members rotate off the council and two members are elected to serve a three year term on the council. Every year the Leadership Council proposes a slate of two members, and then the membership is invited to add to the list as they are led by God. This year Pete Fraser and Charles Zimbrick-Rogers have been nominated by the Leadership Council. If you would like to nominate someone in addition to these two, please do so in writing – with the person’s permission- by Sunday, November 30. Nominations can be sent to the office or handed to any of the existing Council members.

Advent Family Event takes place on Saturday, November 22 beginning at 6:00 pm. We gather 3 – 4 times a year as a ‘Family’ to have some fun together and prepare for the season at hand. Advent starts November 30 and this event will help all of us get ready for a wonderful season. Sign-up sheets for the meal can be found on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.

Sunday School Christmas Project. This year the Sunday School has decided to serve Park Place School this Christmas by encouraging all of us to help fill ‘School-Supply Gift Bags’ for the 34 students. The list of supplies needed may be found on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. The deadline for bringing the supplies into the church is Sunday, November 30. This will be a fun and easy way of supporting the ministry at the school.

Looking forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday.
