October 17 of Week 28 in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends

Here are  a few things to note this week:
Men’s Group meets again tomorrow morning – Saturday October 18 – from 8:30- 10:00 am. I will be sharing a bit of my life story; Stan Blythe will lead us in a discussion of the first chapter of Peter Walker’s The Jesus Way; and we will continue our reflection on our own experience of ‘being discipled’.  All (men) are welcome.
Exploring Membership class meets again on Sunday morning – October 19 from 8:30- 9;45 am. We will ‘travel’ through 2000 years of church history and ask how we might learn from our past and discern the context for our own calling and mission.
Celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism takes place this Sunday. We welcome into Christ’s body Ruby and Joey Shellock and pray God’s blessing upon their family, Sarah and Matty Shellock. We have all been invited to a reception at their home following coffee hour. Directions will be provided for those who need them.
City Changers Conference sponsored by the Focus Center at Park Place Methodist Church takes place October 30, 31 and November 1. If you have a heart for the city and a desire to see how Christ the Redeemer can participate in God’s mission to the city, I encourage you to attend this conference. Details are posted on the bulletin board at the church.
Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday.
Peace be with us all.
