The final day to register for the Annual CtR Women’s Retreat, which will be held February 1st-3rd, 2019 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, is this coming Sunday, December 16th. A deposit of $60 will hold your spot, with the remainder due by January 13, 2019. For more details, pick up a brochure near the Sanctuary doors.
Park Place School Christmas gifts are due this coming Sunday, December 16th. Place the wrapped gift (with the child’s name/ornament attached) under the tree in the Fellowship Hall.
ADVENT:
We have two more Saturday Evening Advent gatherings (December 15th and 22nd). We will start Evening Prayer promptly at 5:30 p.m., with a covered dish meal to follow.
An Inaugural Youth Gathering will take place this coming Saturday, December 15th from 4:00 – 8:30 p.m. We will meet at the Beers home, go to Topgolf, and return to the Beers’ for a meal and party. Youth are encouraged to invite their friends! Please respond to the Evite Deacon David sent out and contact him with any questions.
The Longest Night service will be held Friday, December 21st at 7:00 p.m. The Longest Night is a service designed to contemplate our own griefs and the pain of those we love. For most, the Christmas season is full of cheer, brightness, and togetherness. For others, it can be a time of loneliness, grief, and loss. This service is appropriate for those who struggle at this time of year or find themselves alone or in sorrow. The time can also be used to specifically pray for friends and family who struggle during this season of the year. The service will incorporate a contemplative candle-light liturgy.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE:
Our Christmas service will be held Monday, December 24th beginning at 4:45 p.m. with the decorating of the tree. Worship will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the children’s Christmas pageant and the first communion of the Christmas season.
