It has been a busy and exciting week at Christ the Redeemer as we prepare for a busy and exciting weekend! Here are some of the things you need to know this week:
First: Give thanks to God that we have filled our (expanded) Administrative Assistant position! Our own Sydney Seligman has accepted the position and has already begun the process of learning ‘our processes’. We rejoice in Sydney’s arrival even as we bid a fond farewell to Amy Correll who has given us such warm and caring service these past few years.
Second: DISCIPLESHIP HOUR returns this Sunday, January 13 at 9:00 am, and truly, there is something of interest for everyone:
For Adults, we offer two classes:
Exploring Membership at Christ the Redeemer (Office Space): If you are new to CtR but believe that God may be uniting you to and with this community, you are encouraged to come and discover the context for ‘who’ and ‘where’ we are as a community of faith.
Survey of the New Testament (Fellowship Hall): The Story of the Scripture is not only the ‘Story of the world’, but, the ‘Story of OUR lives’! In order to live out of this story we need to deepen our knowledge of it. This class will offer an entry level overview of the New Testament.
For Youth:
David Watts and his Youth Team’s Youth Discipleship Hour begins Sunday at 9am! All youth 6th grade to 12th grade, come grab a seat and bring an appetite, as we’ll have some donuts to kick off our time together. Over the course of the year we’ll interact with the scope of scripture and church history up until today.
For Children:
Toddlers through fifth grade will continue exploring the Jesus Storybook Bible. Children’s Choir will meet the last 15 minutes each week.
Third: Our Leadership Council and Staff team will gather on Saturday for an ‘Orientation and Planning Day’. Please keep these leaders in your prayers as we seek God’s presence together and God’s guidance and direction for the coming year.
Fourth: Our second youth social outing will be ice skating followed by dessert at Chilled Ponds Saturday, January 19th from 7:15-9:30 p.m. Youth from 6th-12th grade are welcome to join and encouraged to bring friends. Parents, respond to the Evite and email Dn. David if you haven’t received an Evite at david@christtheredeemer.org
