On this last day of May, one’s thoughts are naturally led to think of the summer! Here are some of the things you need to know this week:
First, Our Quarterly Congregational Meeting takes place after worship this Sunday, June 3. At our Special Congregational Meeting in February the Leadership Council promised to provide updates on the developments within the parameters of our ‘3-5 Year Plan’. We gather in the Office complex after worship to hear updates on: The search for an Assistant to the Rector; Our Stewardship Working group; Our conversation regarding the catechizing of our youth; and our developing work within ‘Local Mission’. Grab a cup of coffee and join the Council in this important and continuing conversation.
Second, Our Children’s Ministry morphs into its summer-mode this Sunday! Jennifer has a fun and formative plan of teaching for our children throughout the summer months. Be mindful that she is need of empty containers of disinfecting wipes for a Sunday activity in mid-June. Drop off any used containers in the Ministry room.
Third, GAFCON (the third Global Anglican Future Conference) gathers in Jerusalem on June 17 through 21, 2018. The theme for the gathering is “Proclaiming Christ Faithfully to the Nations”.
GAFCON is a gathering of those who long for God’s renewal of our church and the furtherance of God’s kingdom work through it; and deserves the prayers of all faithful Anglicans. There will be a livestream of the conference along with stories and other content you can find via:
• Sign up for email updates through the Gafcon website.
Fourth, We received the latest report from Innocent regarding the Echo Agricultural Development Project in Mbyo. The report may be found on the table under the ‘Mission’ board in the Fellowship Hall, and will be posted on our web site soon.
Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday and throughout the summer.
