Week of March 10th, 2019

Join us as we seek the Lord together during this Lenten season.

Saturday Nights in Lent

5:30pm – 6:00pm (optional potluck dinner to follow). Committing to evening prayer on Saturday nights is a great way to prepare for communion on Sunday mornings. These services will be quiet, with a short reflection given by members of our Leadership Council.

Sunday Mornings in Lent:

  • Discipleship Hour:
    • “Developing a Rule of Life”, reading through Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation by Ruth Haley Barton. We invite you to read along with us, even if you are unable to attend the Discipleship Hour.
    • Children and Youth classes will continue as normal.
  • Please be ready for worship by 10:15am, as we will begin with the Penitential Rite. Latecomers will be encouraged to gather in the Fellowship Hall, where they will be able to listen in to the Rite and enter the Sanctuary during the singing of the Kyrie.

Lenten Resources

Check out the Lenten resources located in the Fellowship Hall. There are resources that can be used by adults, families, and children to truly lean in to this glorious season of Lent.

Clocks Spring Forward

Be sure to change your clocks on Saturday night, March 9th. You may even want to go to bed early since you will be “losing” an hour!

Youth Social: Game Night!

The next Youth gathering will be on Saturday, March 16th, 6:30pm – 8:45pm (immediately following Evening Prayer). All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to come to this fun game night, and bring a friend or two! Contact David to RSVP, or if you have any questions – david@christtheredeemer.org .

Local Missions

Use Lent as an opportunity to be praying for evangelistic movement. Are there friends of yours that you could invite to our upcoming Alpha Classes or The Basics Program for babies and toddlers? Both of these ministries will be starting after Easter!

Park Place School Spring Luncheon

Tuesday, April 2nd, 10:45am – 1:15pm at Myers Hall, Congregation Beth El

If you are interested in attending the Park Place School’s Auction and Luncheon, please email aphillips@parkplaceschool.org as soon as possible!

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have
made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily
lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness,
may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission
and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever
and ever.
Amen.
