Week of November 18, 2018

This Week at Christ the Redeemer:

First:

We need your HELP! Knox needs to replace a motor within its heating system, and while the part has been ordered, it will not be repaired by this Sunday. IF YOU HAVE A PORTABLE SPACE HEATER, would you please bring it to the church this SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, between noon and 1:00 pm.

Second:

CtR has volunteered to clean the GLOBE International House on ODU’s campus this Saturday, November 17th. We gather at the GLOBE (1241 West 43rd Street, Norfolk) at 9:00 am and should be finished well before noon. If you can participate in this service, please let David Watts know. Park on the street and come around to the back entrance.

CtR has the honor of hosting the monthly International Student Prayer meeting Saturday, December 1st from 8:30-10:00 a.m. Take this opportunity to come fellowship with others serving international students, hear encouraging testimonies and seek the favor and power of the LORD in prayer together. See David Watts for details.

Third:

Advent is fast approaching, so mark your calendars now for our SATURDAYS in ADVENT! We will gather at 5:30 pm each Saturday night for (family-friendly) Evening Prayer, followed by an (optional) Covered Dish Supper.  On the First Saturday of Advent, DECEMBER 1st, we will also provide materials to be used in your own Advent Devotional time at home.

Fourth:

Check out our website for the latest news from Mbyo, Rwanda, our Sister parish. The October report on the development of our Agricultural Project among the farmers of Mbyo is very encouraging. I am amazed and grateful for what God is doing through these efforts.

Finally:

Thank you to all who contributed to the Ghent Area Ministries Thanksgiving Food collection. CtR turned in 18 full bags and 5 extra grocery gift cards!

Looking forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday (Dress warmly!)
