Week of November 4th, 2018

THIS WEEK AT CHRIST THE REDEEMER:

– We TURN THE CLOCKS BACK one hour on Saturday night! (One of my favorite times of the year)

-We come together this Sunday to celebrate the Feast of All Saints! The wondrous fact is that when we come together in worship we do so ‘with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven’, that is, those ‘saints’ who have gone before us.

– We also gather Sunday to celebrate the BAPTISM of Lilabet Matlack (daughter of Kate and Joshua). Please be in prayer for the family as they prepare for this momentous occasion.

A few things to be aware of this week:

First, Our Annual Diocesan Synod takes place this week (Thursday through Saturday) in McClean, VA. The theme of the week is immigration—a most timely topic for theological reflection. Please pray for all those who attend, so that together we may discern the mind of Christ for our diocese.

Second, the GAM Thanksgiving Food Bags are due this Sunday, November 4th. Contact Anne Reed Harper if you can help transport the food from CtR to GAM.

LOOKING AHEAD:

New ‘Youth Initiative’ Proposal: On Sunday, November 11 immediately after worship, David Watts+ will be presenting the next steps in the development of our ministry to and with youth. All youth, parents of youth, and those interested in youth ministry are encouraged to attend.

A Chance to Serve: Come lend your sweat and muscle as we help the GLOBE save thousands by being their clean up crew Saturday morning, November 17th from 9am-12pm. The GLOBE is an international student house under construction which is affiliated with our long time partners, Global Student Fellowship. Contact David Watts by November 16th to let him know you are coming .

Look forward to worshipping with you Sunday
