Baptisms and Confirmations on November 3rd

October is already here, which means November is around the corner. On Sunday, November 3rd, All Saints Day, Bishop Steve Breedlove will be joining us for worship. During his visit, we will be celebrating Baptisms and Confirmations!

We have several individuals that have already expressed interest in both being baptized, as well as confirmed, but we want to make sure we are not missing anyone. If you and/or your child are wanting to be baptized, or are interested in being confirmed and have prepared yourself to be so, please contact Fr. Brian at revbriancampbell@gmail.com.

Alpha Continues Tonight

It’s not too late to invite a friend or two to Alpha, and attend the course with them! Alpha meets tonight at 6:00pm at the Campbell’s, and will continue meeting for the next 6 weeks. This course is for anyone exploring questions of faith, life and meaning.  Contact Fr. David at revdavidwatts@gmail.com if you or someone you know might be interested.

Church Directory Photos

In case you missed it, the CtR Communications Committee will be taking pictures of church members/regular attendees each Sunday in October after service and on one Saturday (10/19) for our new directory. There are three empty slots for this Sunday, at 12:00, 12:40 and 12:50. If you would like to sign up for one of these slots, contact Sydney at ctrsec@gmail.com. If you’re unable to take a picture with you/your family this Sunday, there are still several slots left for the rest of October so make sure to sign up THIS WEEK on the sheet attached to the door across from Ministry Room.

Youth Group at Duckworth’s

Just a reminder that the Youth will be meeting at the Duckworth’s house this Sunday evening, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. For more information, including the Duckworth’s address, contact Fr. David  (revdavidwatts@gmail.com.

Speaking of the Duckworth’s, this Sunday will unfortunately be their last Sunday with us at CtR. We will miss them dearly, but are praying for them and their next adventure in Birmingham!

Mission Sunday Follow-Up

If you were moved by any of the presentations last week, and would like to know more information about how you can get involved in global missions, please contact Sydney at ctrsec@gmail.com. More specifically, if you would like to learn more about Compassion and how to get started with sponsoring a child, contact Kim Johnson at mjohnson274@cox.net.

Operation Christmas Child

The Children and Family Ministry will be participating in Operation Christmas Child as their Christmas project this year.  There will be a table set up soon with more information, and boxes for you to take home and fill together with your family! The boxes, along with $9 for shipping, will need to be returned by November 17th.  Just FYI, we will not be filling the boxes at the church.  This is different than how we have done it in the past, so if you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Brown at brownie7506@yahoo.com .

Amendment to CtR Bylaws

Christ the Redeemer’s Bylaws were recently amended to reflect  our current affiliation with the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), and replace our previous affiliation with PEARUSA. You can find the amended Bylaws here, and they will also be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway next to the Children’s Check-in table. The congregation will need to vote on the amendment at our next Congregational Meeting in December.

“Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
-A Collect for Guidance (for Thursday, from Morning Prayer, BCP 2019)
