Week of January 6, 2019

This Week at Christ the Redeemer:

As the Christmas season draws to a close, we prepare to celebrate the Feast of Epiphany – the manifestation of Israel’s Messiah to the nations, symbolized by the pilgrimage of the Magi. The fulfillment of God’s covenant with Israel unleashes the blessing of God’s New Covenant upon all – even upon us! Alleluia!

Here are some events to note this week:

G.L.O.B.E. House Grand Opening

The G.L.O.B.E. International Student House Open House is this coming Saturday, January 5th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at 1241 43rd Street, Norfolk. See the card on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board, or contact David Watts with questions.

Epiphany Evening

The deadline to sign up for the Epiphany house marking and dinner is Saturday, January 5th. Please email Jay and Emelie Thomas  or visit the Epiphany Evite link to RSVP. We will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas home.

Please note these opportunities for the ‘renewing of our minds’:

Winter Discipleship Hour Sign Up

Discipleship Hour resumes January 13th. Descriptions of the class offerings (a Youth and two adult classes are listed on the enclosed blue insert in the Sunday bulletin and on the church website here. We need to know how many to expect for each class (including the Youth class), so PLEASE choose which class(es) you/your family will attend and fill in the bottom of the half-sheet, tear it off and place it in the offering Sunday. Parents, please let us know (on the blue tear-off sheet) if your youth plan to attend the youth class.
